Trinity Church had a large part to play in the formation of Meals on Wheels in Barrie when it began in the 1960's. It is now organized by the Red Cross and RVH (Royal Victoria Hospital) makes a great contribution. Meals on Wheels is a most recognized name of senior nutrition programs. Many volunteers from the community participate in the delivery of hundreds of meals each year to shut ins and the elderly. Trinity continues to take a turn in the regular schedule and three volunteer teams deliver meals every six weeks. We have twelve volunteers working as 'drivers' or 'runners' and we would welcome more to assist us. Mary Caldwell is the Trinity Coordinator (728-2691). |
